Privacy Policy

Summary

Aktib is a community for booking sports venues, organizing open plays, and finding people to play with. We collect the minimum data we need to make those things work, store it securely, and never sell it to advertisers or data brokers.

• We collect: profile info you give us, bookings you make, posts you share, and basic device data.
• We don't sell your data, train ad networks on it, or share it with third parties beyond what's needed to run Aktib.
• You can delete your account from inside the app — Profile → Delete account.

Data we collect

When you sign up, we collect your email, full name, and any optional profile information you provide (username, avatar, phone, home area, sports, skill level, and short bio).

When you use Aktib, we collect data tied to your activity: bookings and payment records, sessions and GPS activities you log, posts, comments, buddy requests, messages, media you attach, skill assessments, saved items, venue interactions, and notifications we deliver to you.

If you register or claim a venue, we also collect the business and contact details, exact venue pin, public inquiry channels, legal name, ID or permit reference, and verification documents you submit so we can review ownership and operate the venue profile.

On your device, we store a secure session token, a push notification token if you opt into push, and a small set of preferences. We do not access your contacts. We access the camera, photo library, microphone, calendar, reminders, or location only after you choose the related feature and grant permission.

How we use your data

• To deliver the core booking, messaging, and discovery features of Aktib.
• To send you notifications about bookings, messages, and replies you opt into.
• To moderate content and enforce our community standards (no harassment, slurs, or sexual content).
• To verify skill levels you submit through our intake review process.
• To verify venue ownership and operate owner profiles, schedules, bookings, and public venue listings.
• To measure venue discovery and booking interactions and improve Aktib through operational and aggregated analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations or respond to valid law enforcement requests when required.

Who can see what

• Your full name, username, avatar, home area, sports, and verified skill badges are visible to other Aktib users.
• Your bookings are visible to the venue you booked with.
• Your posts and buddy posts are visible to other Aktib users; your direct messages and 1:1 threads are only visible to you and the recipient.
• Your phone number and email are not displayed to other users.
• GPS activity routes are private to your account and authorized Aktib administrators. A rounded location cell may be stored for nearby discovery and notifications, but Aktib does not display your live or exact personal location to other players.
• A venue address, exact venue pin, and the public inquiry channels submitted for an approved venue may be visible to players. Private owner identity and verification documents are restricted to authorized Aktib reviewers.

Push notifications

If you opt into push, we register an Expo push token tied to your account so we can deliver booking alerts, replies, and verified-badge updates. You can disable push at any time in your device settings; in-app notifications continue to work either way.

Photos and media

When you attach a photo or video to a post, chat, payment proof, skill assessment, or venue submission, the file is uploaded to our storage and linked to that record. A video captured in Aktib may include microphone audio. Post media is visible to anyone who can see the post; chat media is limited to thread participants; payment proofs, skill evidence, and owner verification documents are limited to the people responsible for reviewing them.

Location and recorded activities

With foreground location permission, Aktib uses your current position to sort nearby venues, center the map, and find relevant games. For nearby discovery and notifications, we may store a rounded coordinate at roughly one-kilometer resolution.

If you actively start the GPS activity recorder, Aktib collects and stores the precise route points, duration, distance, and pace for that activity until you delete the activity or your account. Aktib does not collect a GPS activity route unless you start recording it.

Data retention and deletion

When you delete your account from Profile → Delete account, we permanently remove your profile name, username, avatar, phone, bio, sports, level, posts, buddy posts, comments, reactions, saved items, story views, connections, devices, notifications, and skill attestations.

Past bookings and chat messages are kept in an anonymized form so the venues you booked with and the people you messaged keep their records. Future bookings are cancelled at deletion time.

Operational logs (error reports, audit traces) are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse prevention.

Children

Aktib is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy as the app changes. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app before the new policy takes effect.
